Aim of Course
The Economics ATAR course develops students’ understanding of how individuals, businesses and governments make economic decisions in a world of limited resources. Through examining trade-offs, economic influences and policy options at local, national and global levels, students learn how decision-making can contribute to productive, efficient and equitable outcomes in the operation of the Australia Economy. The course also builds students’ ability to use economic terminology, concepts and data to analyse economic issues and events. By developing skills in inquiry, problem-solving and critical thinking, students are equipped to make informed predictions, evaluate economic policies and justify evidence-based conclusions about real-world economic challenges.
