COMPULSORY COURSES

Year 9 all students will study the following courses:

  • English

  • Humanities and Social Science

  • Science

  • Mathematics

  • Religious Education

  • Physical Education & Health

English, Humanities and Social Science, Mathematics and Science

In each of these courses students will study in either a "general" or "accelerated" class depending on their academic performance in Year 8. Involvement in accelerated courses will be reviewed by the College throughout the year.

Religious Education

Four topics are studied in Year 9. All of these are of interest to the young person who is entering adolescence with many questions. The text will help to develop the students' understanding of what it is that Catholics believe and how they can follow Jesus in their daily lives.

SELECTED COURSES

Students in Year 9 will participate in six semesterised elective units. One of these will be a compulsory unit, Careers Education. Five other choices will be made, selected from the list below. Information about each course is provided below.
