Through an emphasis on practical activities, this course explores the changing role of the family and responsibilities involved in helping to satisfy the basic needs of children. Students are guided to design and create items suitable for young children. As many students partake in babysitting activities, aspects such as child development, play, first aid and safety are covered.

Assessment
Students will be assessed according to the College Assessment Procedure. All students will be assessed on a number of occasions throughout the year. A variety of assessment strategies have been included in the programme, including both practical and theoretical components. A more comprehensive assessment breakdown can be obtained from the Technology and Enterprise Faculty staff.
