Materials Design and Technology aims to ensure that students are creative and enterprising when using traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies. In this learning area, students critique and evaluate other designs and use their knowledge of technologies to produce creative solutions to problems.
They communicate and record their ideas using a range of media. Students will develop an understanding of the interconnections between materials such as wood and metal, sustainability, the environment and technology. Through following the design process students develop their organisational and project management skills and develop a sense of pride and accomplishment from the ability to create their imagined product.
