Head of Faculty: Miss Kelly Ensor

Understanding Science is the key to understanding the world around us. The Science department at Seton Catholic College has a number of aims for our students:

  • Development of a broad scientific knowledge that helps them to gain an understanding of the natural world.

  • Gain an appreciation of the changing nature of Science.

  • Understand the important role that Science has in developing technologies, and working to solve global issues through collaboration and the sharing of knowledge.

  • Develop their scientific literacy skills.

In Years 7 through to 10, all students complete units of Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Earth Science each year. This broad curriculum ensures that students are well prepared for studying their chosen courses in Years 11 and 12.
