MacKillop

MacKillop House is named in honour of Saint Mary MacKillop, who established the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, Australia's first religious order. Saint Mary MacKillop, along with the Josephites, dedicated themselves to providing education for children and caring for the neglected, elderly, terminally ill and incarcerated individuals. The theme of Mackillop House is Courage, reflecting Saint Mary MacKillop's famous words, "Go with courage and strength." The Mackillop House Cross is the Saint Joseph’s Cross, representing the order founded by Saint Mary MacKillop. Additionally, the symbol of Mackillop House is the Southern Cross Constellation, symbolising Saint Mary MacKillop’s Australian heritage and birthplace.
